Grammar Lesson!

Your, you're, there, their, they're, its, it's. I know that's not a complete sentence for a grammar nazi like me but I guess I kind of did that for a more dramatic effect I suppose. Anyway, there is a difference between them. I honestly do not understand how people still do not know the differences. We should all know this by the age of 16 at least! I know that some words can be difficult to spell, but don't you think you could at least Google the word before you post it somewhere public? Not that I've done that before...anyway. In this post, I'm going to sound like a huge douche but I'm going to break it all down for those of you that don't understand the differences. If you're an adult, you should know the differences. Now let's take a flashback to grade school.

You're & Your
You're - a contraction of you and are. EX - You're so pretty! (You are so pretty!)
Your - something belongs to you. EX - Are those your shoes over there, all of them?

There, Their & They're
There - referencing a place. EX - Look over there!
Their - something belongs to others. EX - No, those are their shoes, not mine.
They're - a contraction of they and are. EX - They're closing the store! (They are closing the store!)

Its & It's
Its - having possession of something. EX - The sun is so warm, let's lay underneath its rays.
It's - a contraction of it and is. EX - It's quite beautiful. (It is quite beautiful.)

There is a quick grammar lesson from Ashley. Hopefully those that were ignorant on the differences now know the differences. I must admit though, I am not always 100% perfect on grammar. I make mistakes as well. In addition to these words, believe it or not, I had encounters with a person not knowing the difference between, refrain & reframe, sue & sew, hear & here. Now come on. Those are just ridiculous mistakes. At least there is a big pool of people who don't know the differences of the examples above but refrain, here, sew? That's an elementary mistake.

When was the last time I actually used paper?

So now that I have this blog, I have an insane urge to keep writing posts. I'm attempting to hold back my excitement. I'm very into writing, I love it a lot. A goal of mine is to write a book, have it published and sold before I die. Let's see if I can make that happen. When I come up with a decent story I'll probably post it on here for the people that read my blog. Which is myself; but that's okay. This blog is just a really nice way for me to express how I feel towards certain situations or just to bore people with how uneventful my day is. Maybe one day I can write stories and articles for a magazine. That'd be cool. But I wouldn't be interested in the articles titled, "How to make your boobs look 7 cups sizes bigger!" or "Sexy poses to do for a sexy photoshoot for your sexy man!" or "Tiger Woods likes to play with his balls." Thanks, but no thanks. I would enjoy writing about stuff that actually matters. To the one reader that reads my blog, if there is anything you'd like me to write about, e-mail me! Or just comment on a post. I'm going to try to be calm and not post 5 posts every day but it just may happen. The good part about this blog, is that since I know not that many people read it, I can just go on rants and rampages and then only a few people will think I'm crazy!
