Not so serious

I wan't to post a post that is a bit immature and comical because the majority of my posts are deep thoughts. I'm going to make a list of funny first world problems that are so true. A first world problem is a problem that the middle/upper class families experience and complain about; the complete opposite of a third world problem.

- McDonald's only gave me 3 BBQ packets for 20 nuggets and now I have to ration them.
- There is garbage on my desk, but the garbage can is full.
- I took a super long shower this morning...the hot water was out when I tried to take another one that night.
- The restaurant didn't have Coke or Pepsi so I had to order Dr. Pepper.
- They ran out of free sugar cookies at the grocery store.
- My computer isn't connecting to the internet and I have to use my iPad.
- My warm chocolate chip cookie wouldn't fit in my cup of milk.
- I burnt the roof of my mouth with hot soup and now I can't taste anything else for at least an hour.
- The software that I just downloaded requires me to restart my computer.
- I had too much food on my plate so I have to get up for seconds.
- I need to go to the gym today but my hair looks really good and I don't want to ruin it.
- I poured my cereal into the bowl without checking if we had milk...we didn't.
- I made eye contact with a homeless man.
- My laptop is dying but my charger is all the way up stairs!
- I have to use Internet Explorer at work!
- Sonic doesn't deliver.

I hope you find these at least somewhat comical. I find them funny because they happen to all of us, and we all complain about it. First world problems are pretty minuscular and it's quite funny. Some of those I made up myself and some I would like to thank Google for. Thank you Google.

Acceptance is healthy

Currently sitting in the kitchen listening to music while I write this post, my dad does random things and my sister cleans. One of the downsides of being sick is that you have to cancel plans and reschedule them; that's always unfortunate. But luckily, a roommate of mine wasn't scared of inhaling my germs and we went to Starbucks to have a well needed talk about our Christmas breaks. We talked about a certain situation that occurred in my life that had a good life lesson behind it that I believe people should be aware of. Call me a sap, call me a loser but expressing my opinions on subjects like these is just something I enjoy doing. People need to realize that the people in your life come and go. No matter how difficult it is for you to let go of someone, it's life and it happens. Most of the time, there isn't anything you can do about it and if there is something to do about it, treat that person with respect. When someone decides to leave you, that's when you decide the type of person you want to be. You can take the route of anger, pain and rage or you can take the route of acceptance. Of all people, I know first hand that it's difficult to let someone go. My mother passed when I was little and I didn't really understand what was going on which was very difficult. But in the end, life will throw complications in your face and it's your challenge to see if you can overcome that. It doesn't make any sense to dwell on the past. Life goes on. In relationships, notice that there are other people out there. Life does not end if your relationship with another person does. If you're dealing with a loss of someone close, realize that they will be there with you even if they're not physically there. Life does not end if someone you know's life has. People come and go out of our lives for a reason. Now whether or not you choose to accept it is your decision.
