Music videos vs. crazy people

Something that I think should change is the way MTV presents itself in these recent years. I personally think that MTV has gone from diamonds to plastic. I know it is difficult to tear your eyes away from the overly tan party animals and the irresponsible pregnant teenagers but music videos make MTV a better channel. I used to love turning on the television and having new and old songs thumping through my ears and now, those memories seem to be old with MTV having no intentions of creating new ones. Unfortunately, MTV has gone extremely downhill and it appears that people don't appreciate music as much as they used to. Don't get me wrong, rap music is very fun. But on the other hand, it's degrading and has no meaning most of the time. Also, I loved watching music videos that showed the band singing or going through some life story. I don't love watching music videos with big butts and boobs jiggling at the camera. There is more to life than partying, sex, drugs, drinking, and appearances. Why doesn't the new MTV go back to the old MTV? I know exactly why. People today are so fascinated with the pathetic lives of other people therefore, if MTV got rid of those shows, they would probably get no ratings because of the way people are today. I would like to admit though that I absolutely love watching The Real World and The Challenge. Those could be staged and rigged, but at least they have meaning and they work towards something. MTV should probably change their name to TTV (Trash Television). This is a cry out to MTV: go back to being all about MUSIC TELEVISION.

A selfish person is a thief

Stop blaming the world for your problems. You are your problem and all you can do is fix it, get over it, and move on. It makes me frustrated when people try to blame the world for their problems. Everyone goes through tough situations in their life not just you. Your selfishness sticks out like a shiny glittery bracelet in the sunlight. If you're feeling down, consult someone. Stop dwelling in the past and trying to steal sympathy from innocent people. Stop trapping your friends and family by telling them that if something doesn't happen, you'll commit suicide. It's extremely selfish and I can't stand it. Talk to a professional about these kind of things. No person should ever feel trapped inside of a sticky situation such as suicide. Realize that you have a problem if you keep thinking dark thoughts. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Stop trying to make pity parties happen. Although life is like a box of chocolates, it's also like a puzzle with a million pieces. Some may fit, some may not. Things may fall into place, other things not so much. Throughout your life the puzzle completes itself. Let yourself complete the puzzle because if you won't get help when you need it, no one will be able to help you, it will be too late. When you die, the puzzle is complete.

And I would like to give credit for the title to Jose Marti.

What is wrong with me?

It's insane how much I've learned about myself within the past year. I've discovered these traits through the building of relationships with friends and family. Within this past year, I have realize that I am incredibly stubborn, picky, a sore loser, and selfish. To be honest, I have already been aware of these sour traits but this year they have really been put underneath the spot light. I knew I'm picky when it comes to guys, but I learned that I am picky with several different foods; when I originally believed I wasn't picky with food at all. In addition, I have discovered that I am an intense sore loser. I noticed this when my SHSU Bearkats lost their last football game (National Championship game) and when the Steelers unfortunately failed compared to the Broncos. I've always known that I am selfish but man it's pretty bad. The word share is not in my vocabulary. And to top all of these poor traits off, I am stubborn. Very. Stubborn.

I'm not going to stop

I fear that when I do not have a new post, my blog will slowly collect dust. It's 12:04AM and I have twenty-five percent battery left before my laptop dies. I have been attempting to come up with an inspirational, likable, catchy song. I love singing but I just can't get the hang of song writing. I suppose that's why stars now-a-days tend to hire someone for that. Unfortunately, I am not famous and no one wants to help me write a song. I'm extremely serious about singing and I just wish it were possible to get a vocal coach to help me improve so that one day I can make a difference. I want to be a famous singer but one that inspires people, makes people happy, and helps people relate. Is it insane that it frustrates me so much that I can't write songs like good song writers do? I get frustrated because I feel like there is a one in a million chance of me actually getting anywhere close to a singing career. I suppose I can post the one video I have of myself singing on YouTube. Better yet, click here if you'd like to watch it. It's a bit rough but that's okay; that's why I desire a vocal coach. There are so many hopes and dreams that I have, I just have to keep on trying and trying. Wish me luck.

Is it a sensitive subject?

I figure I must post a blog before the SHSU Championship Game that is today. We're gonna hopefully kick some Bison butt and become champions! I'm not really feeling inspirational right now, but I do want to bring something up in the air. Why is it that it's so difficult to just have male friends? For me, I find it extremely difficult. It seems like they don't want friends, they only want relationships or something. In addition, why must guys try to go on dates with girls before even becoming friends with them? It's quite frustrating because to be quite frank, I want to be friends with someone first and then see if it goes anywhere. But lately that appears almost impossible. No, I don't want to text you every day and no, I don't want to hang out with you every day. What ever happened to being just friends?

Acceptance is healthy

Currently sitting in the kitchen listening to music while I write this post, my dad does random things and my sister cleans. One of the downsides of being sick is that you have to cancel plans and reschedule them; that's always unfortunate. But luckily, a roommate of mine wasn't scared of inhaling my germs and we went to Starbucks to have a well needed talk about our Christmas breaks. We talked about a certain situation that occurred in my life that had a good life lesson behind it that I believe people should be aware of. Call me a sap, call me a loser but expressing my opinions on subjects like these is just something I enjoy doing. People need to realize that the people in your life come and go. No matter how difficult it is for you to let go of someone, it's life and it happens. Most of the time, there isn't anything you can do about it and if there is something to do about it, treat that person with respect. When someone decides to leave you, that's when you decide the type of person you want to be. You can take the route of anger, pain and rage or you can take the route of acceptance. Of all people, I know first hand that it's difficult to let someone go. My mother passed when I was little and I didn't really understand what was going on which was very difficult. But in the end, life will throw complications in your face and it's your challenge to see if you can overcome that. It doesn't make any sense to dwell on the past. Life goes on. In relationships, notice that there are other people out there. Life does not end if your relationship with another person does. If you're dealing with a loss of someone close, realize that they will be there with you even if they're not physically there. Life does not end if someone you know's life has. People come and go out of our lives for a reason. Now whether or not you choose to accept it is your decision.

When was the last time I actually used paper?

So now that I have this blog, I have an insane urge to keep writing posts. I'm attempting to hold back my excitement. I'm very into writing, I love it a lot. A goal of mine is to write a book, have it published and sold before I die. Let's see if I can make that happen. When I come up with a decent story I'll probably post it on here for the people that read my blog. Which is myself; but that's okay. This blog is just a really nice way for me to express how I feel towards certain situations or just to bore people with how uneventful my day is. Maybe one day I can write stories and articles for a magazine. That'd be cool. But I wouldn't be interested in the articles titled, "How to make your boobs look 7 cups sizes bigger!" or "Sexy poses to do for a sexy photoshoot for your sexy man!" or "Tiger Woods likes to play with his balls." Thanks, but no thanks. I would enjoy writing about stuff that actually matters. To the one reader that reads my blog, if there is anything you'd like me to write about, e-mail me! Or just comment on a post. I'm going to try to be calm and not post 5 posts every day but it just may happen. The good part about this blog, is that since I know not that many people read it, I can just go on rants and rampages and then only a few people will think I'm crazy!

P.S. If you'd like to follow me on twitter, do it. @justlikeashleyy
P.S.S. If you were a Twitter button, where would you be? The right-side column.

Am I crazy?

I originally had this blog titled, "Screaming White Crayon." Then I realized that it sounds like I'm using a metaphor to hide a racist comment or something. Saying that this blog is about a screaming, crazy white girl that spills her opinions. Am I the only one who thinks that white crayon is a bit racist? Although I thought white sounded great, I changed it to blue because I am not a racist and there are no blue people (excluding the humanoids from Avatar or "Navi," and the Blue Man Group) to call me a racist.
